Help bring essential legal support to underserved communities by donating to Chicago Advocate Legal (CAL)’s Closing the Justice Gap Winter Fundraiser. We are aiming to raise $50,000 by January 31, 2025.  Your contribution will provide crucial support to CAL's programs that make a profound difference for families in need.

This winter, help us bridge the justice gap and provide crucial representation individuals and families in the Chicago area.

Where Your Gift Goes

Each donation expands one of CAL's innovative programs designed for those most affected by the justice gap. 

• The Empowering Fathers Program partners with Chicago CAPS and other non-profit organizations to provide free legal representation, workforce development and tax preparation services to low-income fathers with child support and parentage (a.k.a. custody) disputes.

• CAL’s Mental Health Justice Initiative provides free and sliding-scale representation to parents who experienced mental health trauma and are at risk of losing custody of their children.

• The Young Families Legal Program provides limited scope representation with an emphasis on co-parenting to young, unmarried parents with uncontested or moderately contested custody and child support disputes.

Our organization brings a holistic approach to representation that seeks to build partnerships with social services organizations to address the root causes of our client’s legal problems.
